For most people, buying or selling a property or apartment is the biggest and most important financial transaction of their lives. It often involves investing a significant amount of their savings and taking out loans to finance the purchase. To ensure that both buyers and sellers receive appropriate advice during such an important process and that the contract is legally sound and properly executed, the law requires the involvement of a notary.

In doing so, it is the task of the notary, as a neutral and independent advisor, to keep the interests of all parties to the contract in mind and to ensure fair and balanced arrangements. In particular, I make sure that you do not make any unsecured advance payments, i.e., that the buyer only pays the purchase price once their (unencumbered) acquisition of ownership is secured, and that the seller does not lose their ownership without having received the purchase price. Similarly, special features of the contractual object may affect the drafting of the contract. This applies in particular to so-called property development contracts, in which the buyer acquires a plot of land or a share of land in connection with a house or apartment that is yet to be built.
